Your Garage, Converted Into a Permitted ADU
Many Los Angeles garages sit full of storage. Converting one into an ADU reuses a structure you already have and creates a studio or one-bedroom unit with its own kitchen and bathroom.
We handle the design, the permit, the structural and utility work, and every finish, so you end up with a legal, inspected unit and not just a finished garage.
What a Garage Conversion Includes
Each garage is different. We start by checking the slab, framing and utilities.
- Feasibility check of the existing structure
- Plans, engineering and permits
- Garage door removal and new exterior wall
- New windows, entry door and stucco
- Foundation and slab work where needed
- Insulation, drywall and ceilings
- Electrical, including panel upgrades
- Plumbing and sewer connection
- Kitchen or kitchenette
- Full bathroom
- HVAC or mini-split heating and cooling
- Flooring, paint and finishes
Why Convert Your Garage
A conversion uses the footprint and much of the structure you already have. That often means a simpler path through permitting and fewer surprises than a ground-up build.
Older garages vary a lot. Some slabs and walls are ready for living space and some need work. We inspect the structure first and explain what it needs before you commit.

Garage Conversion Questions
Can any garage be converted?
Most can, but the slab, framing, ceiling height and utilities all matter. We inspect the garage and tell you what it needs before you commit to a design.
Do I need to replace the parking?
California’s ADU rules generally do not require replacing parking lost to a garage conversion. We confirm the current requirements with your city for your property.
Can the unit have a full kitchen and bathroom?
Yes. Most of our conversions include a kitchen or kitchenette and a full bathroom, with plumbing and sewer connections handled as part of the project.
